「柏撒沙王祭典」是英國作曲家華爾頓最傑出的神劇。「柏撒沙王」
是巴比倫最後一位君主，華爾頓以根植於英國傳統的神劇之魂，揉合
了近代作曲的技巧，為這位使徒量身塑造了聖者的完美形象。指揮李
頓與普利茅斯交響在其一系列的華爾頓作品錄音中，以本輯的表現最
為出色，音樂的平衡感與張力掌握得宜，音色亦極為溫暖自然。本輯
