摘自 佳佳唱片 網站 : 爵士樂潮流隨時間流轉起伏迭興，基本上是以曲式結構、節奏緩急及即興基礎作為風格的分野，如大樂團的輕鬆搖擺、咆勃樂的急促綿密、精純咆勃的熱力狂奔、西岸爵士的恬適柔美或酷派爵士的冷靜沉穩；而自五零年代末期由小號巨擘邁爾‧戴維斯開創的調性爵士，則是運用古典音樂中嚴謹的調式音階或是西班牙、印度等五聲音階作為主要創作來源，而樂手於演奏時，則有別於過往採和弦轉換的即興模式，而是以調性或音階作為即興基礎，因此音樂在呈現上就出現異於之前的色澤光譜，也因此而營造出冷靜冥寂的從容氛圍！ 本輯「靈魂搖擺」為身兼製作人、DJ及吉他手多重角色於一身的尼可拉‧康堤選錄自五零年代至六零年代的18首調性爵士名曲，透過其獨到眼光及出色品味絕選以彰顯調性爵士的博大精深。“New Delhi”一曲由電顫琴手維特‧費德曼所創作，以印度首都命名的曲目當然少不了東方國度音樂略帶詭祕的五聲音階色彩，長笛手詹姆斯‧克雷如句句斟酌似地細膩刻畫，演繹間所呈現之音樂基調特有奇異綺麗的異域風情；“Jungle Fantasy”一曲由篤信回教的多管怪傑尤瑟夫‧拉提夫領軍揮灑，其長笛聲深邃而幽美，所勾勒之空靈意象空間，讓人頓時迷失於飄渺與虛幻中；“Senor Blues”一曲則由蓋瑞‧麥克法蘭大樂團為女伶安妮塔‧歐黛伴奏，她低沈沙啞的魅力嗓音詮釋起調式曲風，別有一番特殊的悒鬱風味！
