Dave Grusin 是一位相當出色的鍵盤手、作曲家與編曲家，曾從事許多電影與電視影集的配樂，如1988 奧斯卡最佳配樂的「荳田戰役」(The Milagro Beanfield War)、1989葛萊美獎最佳電影原聲帶的「一曲相思情未了」(The Fabulous Baker Boys)，與「黑色豪門企業」(The Firm) 等。
另外，其有不少樂曲在十幾年前亦是台灣人耳熟能詳的，像是以往台視曾播映過一部以醫院為背景的影集「波城杏話」，其中的主題曲「St. Elsewhere」。另外，當年台視新聞播放股市行情時，亦採用其譜寫的「Early A.M. Attitude」做為背景音樂。
