有著多樣豐富的音樂類型、充滿活力的溫暖音符與超高水準的演奏技巧；曾獲得美國葛來美獎16次提名，並兩次以「最佳融合爵士演出」及「最佳節奏藍調演奏」項目獲獎的融合爵士超級樂團Yellowjackets「黃蜂樂團」(黃色夾克四重奏)，即將在2010年2月25日於河岸留言西門展演館，舉行成立超過25年來首次於台灣的演出與大師班講座。
Yellowjackets是融合爵士音樂類型中真正堪稱大師級的樂團，在藝術與商業成就上都屢獲肯定，歷任團員個個來歷顯赫；Yellowjackets的音樂歷程可說是1980-90年代的融合爵士音樂發展的縮影。
Yellowjackets的成軍，源自於1977年吉他手Robben Ford的專輯「The Inside Story」。專輯中的鍵盤手Russell Ferrante、Bass手Jimmy Haslip與鼓手Ricky Lawson發現他們的演奏互動中有著特別的默契，於是以「樂團內的樂團」為概念成立了器樂演奏為主的Yellowjackets，以別於以主唱為重的Robben Ford Group。
薩克斯風手Marc Russo自1984年的Playboy Jazz Festival演出後加入Yellowjackets，樂團便一直以四人編制持續至今日。Will Kennedy在1987年取代了離團的Ricky Lawson；當代爵士樂巨匠Bob Mintzer在1991年加入後，Yellowjackets的音樂方向從一開始以節奏藍調為主、兼具旋律線條的當代融合爵士，變得更往傳統爵士樂靠近，也讓演奏的內容更加多樣化。Marcus Baylor於2000年後成為最新任的鼓手。
2008年，Yellowjackets慶祝成立25週年。在歷經多任團員更迭後，Yellowjackets的曲風始終保持著Russell Ferrante一開始對於樂團的期許：「Something lively, energetic, and something with a “sting”.」台灣的愛樂者，終將有機會親身感受Yellowjackets帶來的活力與刺激。
