• 一般註：Program notes in English by Egon F. Kenton (Librarian, Mannes College of Music, N. Y.) inserted in container. Excerpted from the program notes: The unfinished quartet op. 81 makes one regret that the composer died before being able to complete it, for it shows that the began shaking off his despondent mood brought about by the death of his beloved sister Fanny. There is a slow movement consisting of a simple theme and variations in E major, and a scherzo in A minor. [The added two movements include a capriccio dating from 1843, and an excellent fugue in E flat, composed in 1827.]
