摘自 博客來音樂館 網站 : 一九○五年出生的Harold Arlen是蓋希文、艾文．柏林之外另一位偉大的美國作曲家，從家鄉水牛城的地方樂隊裡彈鋼琴開始到替默片電影配樂；搬到紐約後擔任劇場台的鋼琴師並與Ted Koehler搭檔寫曲；三○年代前往好萊塢發展後，優秀作品也相繼出現。他的名作有“Come Rain Come Shine"以及《綠野仙蹤》裡的“Over The Rainbow"等等。 不同於黑珍珠比莉．哈樂黛沉重、鬱悶的情緒，一九一八年出生的爵士第一夫人艾拉．費茲潔拉以清亮的嗓音獻唱了二十八首Harold Arlen的歌曲，分為兩張CD。一九三四年踏入歌唱界、一生備受尊崇的艾拉自五○年代後因演唱許多作曲家的作品並編成歌唱輯(Songbok)名聲到達巔峰。這套 Ella Fitzgerald Sings The Harold Arlen Songbook 是一九六○到六一年間的錄音，艾拉的歌聲塔配作曲傳奇，不論多少年後這些曲子必定一再被傳頌，成為永垂不朽的經典。
