這張特輯結合了搖滾、鄉村、節奏藍調、爵士樂..等領域的 20 多位頂尖歌手，包括巨星「Phil Collins」、「All 4 One」、「Tevin Campbell」、「Natalie Cole」、「James Ingram」、「Salt-N-Pepa」、「Kenny Loggins」、超級女子組合「TLC」合唱團的「Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes」..等，為紀念美國最偉大的音樂家「伯恩斯坦」獻唱其最偉大的代表作「西城故事」。除了巨星雲集之外，特輯中並收錄西班牙巨星「Salena」最後錄音。
《 西城故事 》由「莎士比亞」名著《 羅密歐與茱麗葉 》改編，所敘述的 50 年代的故事，卻彷彿也表現 90 年代的社會問題。《 西城故事 》成功之處在於音樂的通俗易懂與流暢動聽，不但被流行樂界視為百老匯歌舞劇的不朽傑作、亦被古典樂章視為現代歌劇的典範。
