Hollywood song-and-dance man Tony Hunter is persuaded by friends to star in a Broadway musical. After some misgivings, he joins the show in New York, only to find his doubts confirmed. He is confronted by a prima ballerina with a prima donna's temper, a jealous and hostile choreographer and a pig-headed producer-director. The production is in chaos.
