摘自 音樂時代-唱片購買指南 : 這張《熱情》（Passion）專輯中雖然只有一首中文歌曲，但仍是中樂界的話題。《在那遙遠的地方》是王洛賓寫於一九三九年的作品，卡瑞拉斯自承選唱這首歌曲，目的是要「直接打動中國聽眾的心」。為了忠實傳達原曲風貌，卡瑞拉斯選擇以國語發音，這事當然也讓他吃了不少苦頭。他的中文當然無法標準，但從他全神灌注的態度，每個聽者都可以感受到他的熱情：對「歌曲」的強烈真愛。其它十三首歌曲都是極其優美的古典名曲（器樂）的改編曲，例如《靠近我》（布拉姆斯三號交醬曲）、《沒有妳，我心傷》（蕭邦練習曲）、《取走我心》（李斯特《愛之夢》）、《記得你〉（貝多芬鋼琴奏鳴曲〈悲 》）等。演唱這些曲子據說是出自卡瑞拉斯多年來的心願，相信很多讀者也會有一模一樣的心願；也就是，有些曲子的曲調太美，讓您忍不住的要唱；何況像卡瑞拉斯這種歌喉高人一等的能人呢？（楊忠衡）
