朱曉玫是旅居法國超過30年的中國鋼琴家，1949年出生於上海，文化大革命時曾被下放勞改五年之久，卻絲毫沒有遏止了對於鋼琴演奏的狂熱與追求，1979年美國小提琴大師艾薩克．史坦前往中國時，不僅發掘了知名大提琴家王健，同時也驚訝這中國小女生的過人天賦。在史坦的安排之下朱曉玫赴美求學，1980年進入美國歷史最悠久的波士頓新英格蘭音樂學院就讀，取得碩士學院；1984年定居巴黎，後來並任教於巴黎高等音樂學院。
朱曉玫不是屬於舞台型的鋼琴家，她低調、深居簡出，音樂會演出極少；但是，獨特的音樂品味與令人感動的真摯琴音，讓她名氣越來越高，所到之處一票難求。尤其是她所演奏的巴赫，節奏、韻律感、對位法、深刻、輕盈、活潑、等樣樣不缺，也恰到好處，彷彿就是為演奏巴赫而生。
