在2010年蕭邦國際大賽的賽場上，雖然眾人焦點依例會放在首獎得主阿夫傑耶娃，但是第二名的奧地利鋼琴家溫德引起更大的討論聲浪，更受觀眾與在場的樂評人喜愛。除了名次，溫德同時還是「降A大調第七號波蘭幻想曲，作品61最佳演奏」、「協奏曲最佳演奏」與「最受觀眾喜愛」獎得主。大賽的激情結束，所有參賽者各奔前程，而等在溫德面前的，是一紙DG的合約書。
溫德1985年出生於奧地利克拉根福特，四歲開始學習音樂。溫德一開始打算當一個小提琴家，但是他在鋼琴上的天賦完全無法掩蓋，十四歲開始專注在鋼琴上。1999年起，溫德就開始參加國際鋼琴大賽，而且是大賽常勝軍之一，但是他坦言自己並不喜歡參加比賽，對於流傳在比賽場上「評審不公」的耳語，也能在事後完全釋懷。繼第一張蕭邦專輯之後，溫德推出這張頗具趣味的專輯。曲目包括鋼琴音樂三百年來的作品。它並不是一張從正統「古典音樂」角度出發的專輯，而是從鋼琴的角度出發，選擇出最能展現出鋼琴彈奏趣味的作品。
