摘自 博客來音樂館 網站 : 比利時根特國際影展每年十月頒發世界電影音樂獎（World Soundtrack Awards），表揚年度的傑出電影音樂工作者。電影配樂大廠Silva Screen力邀布魯塞爾愛樂樂團錄製了此專輯，來慶祝日本電影配樂大師坂本龍一（Ryuichi Sakamoto）獲得該年度的終身成就獎。
同時身為作曲家、表演者、製作人和環保人士，很少有藝術家像坂本龍一這樣擁有如此豐富的經歷和粉絲群。他的音樂領域極為廣闊，從合成器樂團「Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO)」的實驗搖滾．到製作古典音樂、一系列極簡的氛圍音樂，以及超過30部的電影配樂。他的作品獲得了各式讚譽，包括奧斯卡金像獎、兩座金球獎、一座葛萊美獎等。
本專輯收錄了坂本龍一與大衛．鮑伊（David Bowie）合演的《俘虜》（Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence）主題曲，以及貝托魯奇的《末代皇帝》、《小活佛》，阿莫多瓦的《高跟鞋》，阿利安卓的《火線交錯》及《神鬼獵人》等經典作品。
