1992年，Verve唱片公司的副廠Emarcy 在樂迷對大師的嘆惋聲中，發行了
雙CD一套的專輯「共享時刻」(People Time)，迅速成為人們重新回溯史坦
．蓋茲作品的極端基準。本專輯收錄的時間距離大師殞落前三個月，但是
它的重要性絕不止於「大師最後遺作」的功能觀點，因為它是兩位同為爵
士大師展現精純演奏技巧與即興創意的超卓紀錄。１９９１年六月六日爵
士薩克斯風大師史坦．蓋茲與世長辭，也是所有喜愛他的樂迷的傷心斷腸
時，回顧大師４０年對爵士樂的貢獻，只能從他過去各個階段的實驗與創
意中窺見他的微妙和偉大。
還記得1987年，史坦．蓋茲為慶祝六十大壽，率領當時的四重奏班底包括
鋼琴手肯尼‧巴倫ˋ貝斯手 Rufus Reid以及鼓手 Victor Lewis在丹麥首都哥
本哈根的蒙馬特咖啡廳進行了一場精彩萬分的小型演奏會，造就了
"Anniversary"及"Serenity"兩張精彩絕倫的專輯。
1991年，蓋茲重回蒙馬特咖啡廳，以鋼琴與薩克斯風的特殊二重奏形式，
與老搭檔鋼琴手肯尼‧巴倫共創熱力火花。從“Night And Day”ˋ“I
Remember Clifford”ˋ“Softly, As In A Morning Sunrise”ˋ“(There’s No)
Greater Love”與"Soul Eyes”等樂曲, 演奏魅力仍不減當年。
