摘要註
The story is of the Prince of Tyre, who flees upon discovering his King in an incestuous relationship. He marries, and his own daughter is kidnapped by pirates and sold into the brothel. 莎翁喜劇, 有武士精神、喜歡探險的 Tyre 的王子 Pericles 發現國王 Antioch 和女兒有亂倫關係而不願娶其女, 返國後的 Pericels 又協助一處解除饑荒, 在一次船難中得到漁民的幫助, 並和一女子結婚, 之後其妻死於難產, Pericles 將女兒托交他人照顧, 不料受託人忌妒她的美貌與智慧勝過自己的親生女而預謀陷害, 但 Pericles 的女兒 Marina 竟被人偷走, 並被賣給妓院, 麗質天生的Marina 逃離後成為一名老師, 但受託人告知 Pericles Marina 已死, 於是, Pericles 駕船前往 Mitylene , 在那兒, Pericles 和為她獻藝的 Marina相認, 其實, Pericles 的妻子也仍在人世, 一家三口終於團圓
