摘自 博客來音樂館 網站 : Sarah Vaughan的歌唱技藝雷同於任何一把樂器的聲音，亦因如此，只有她才可以將一些流行小品昇華為爵士Standard級的「演奏曲目」。＂Scat＂吟唱對於Sarah而言只不過是一個忘詞的障眼法，而是她與生俱來將歌曲情緒帶至高峰的技巧。Vaughan先後加入咆勃爵士前期的Earl Hines及Billy Eckstine大樂團，由於她對流行曲的出色演繹，次年即以個人身份出現在舞台上。1945年，Sarah與Charlie Parker及Dizzy Gillespie兩位咆勃爵士巨星合作的作品＂Lover man＂馬上成為咆勃爵士音樂的必聽曲目，就Parker而言，Sarah在演繹此曲的時候，管樂發展空間亦受到威脅，自此之後Sarah的星運一直平步青雲的發展，而其中最大的原因是她善於在爵士樂與流行樂中間捨輕就重，作平行發展。1971年，經過五年的休養，Sarah再次踏入錄音室，除了積極表演爵士Standard曲目之外（受到名製作人Norman Granz鼓勵的Songbooks系列），樂迷亦開始發覺Sarah的唱功已經到達另外一個成熟的階段。與巨星及人物Duke Ellington、Oscar Peterson、Count Basie的合作及後其作巴西樂曲的演繹，都進一步肯定了其歌唱的實力。1990年Sarah不幸逝世，爵士樂界從此失去了最光輝的All Time Favorite級唱將。 New series of unreleased iconic jazz concerts from the archives of Belgium public TV, newly captured from original film material.
