摘自 音樂時代-唱片購買指南 : 本片中收錄的多是十六世紀以前的歌謠。貝爾德畢業於伊斯曼音樂院，並到薩爾茲堡師從阿農庫爾，特別擅長巴羅克時期的歌劇與神劇。麥克法蘭則是巴爾的摩和諧室內樂團團員。兩人對於古樂都有極深的研究，解說中並附所有歌詞、錄音地點的介紹，足見製作之用心。錄音地點在特洛伊儲蓄銀行音樂廳，錄音師把茱麗安的清麗嗓音、隆的魯特琴錚錚樂音以及音樂廳的優秀堂音效果，巧妙地結合在一起，成為一張精彩的唱片。（羅振晨）
