摘自 極光音樂 網站 : 「Rainy Days And Mondays」、「I’ll Never Fall In Love Again」、「We’ve Only Just Begun」、「Please Mr Postman」、「Yesterday Once More」這一首首「木匠兄妹」（Carpenters）的歌曲絕對是樂迷耳熟能詳的經典，但您可能不知道由理查．卡本特（Richard Carpenter）與凱倫．卡本特（Karen Carpenter）兩人所組成的「木匠兄妹」本來在1960年代初期最早組成的是一個三人爵士樂團，還曾經與當時知名的RCA唱片簽約，只是後來沒有發片就解散了。後來他們決定自組樂團，理查負責彈鋼琴，凱倫打鼓，兩人都有歌唱的演出，終於在1969年取得A&M唱片的一紙合約，推出首張專輯《Offering》，裡面最知名的就是翻唱披頭四的「Ticket to Ride」，當日本爵士大廠Venus唱片的當家花旦妮基．派洛特決定要推出一張《木匠兄妹經典歌曲集》時，當然也不錯過這首經典歌曲。 除了妮基．派洛特自己擔綱演唱與貝斯彈奏之外，更邀請到薩克斯風大師Ken Peplowski、鋼琴名家John Di Martino、吉他手Frank Vignola，以及鼓手Alvin Atkinson等人共同助陣，錄音地點在紐約的Trading 8錄音室，由Chris Sulit擔綱錄音，展現出獨特的爵士韻味。妮基．派洛特的嗓音甜美直比凱倫．卡本特，精彩的爵士改編不但保留了卡本特原曲中的清新氣息，又加入爵士樂的輕鬆搖擺，讓這些經典聽來不僅別有一番韻味，也許更符合「卡本特兄妹」心中的音樂原貌也不一定呢！
