摘自 佳佳唱片 網站 : 匈牙利鋼琴家安德拉斯‧席夫爵士，1953年出生於布達佩斯一個猶太人家庭，在李斯特音樂學院隨庫塔格(György Kurtág)等大師學習鋼琴，1974年席夫前往倫敦師從喬治‧馬爾科姆，1975年參加英國著名的里茲鋼琴大賽獲得第3名。1987年席夫獲得了奧地利國籍，2001年取得英國籍，2014年英國封席夫為爵士，目前與日本籍小提琴家妻子塩川悠子居住於倫敦，近年來席夫專注於獨奏音樂會與指揮身分。 作為今日在音樂會及錄音上皆取得極大成功的鋼琴大師之一，席夫即將於2023年12月過70歲生日，DECCA特地發行這套集結這位對於樂壇有著高度貢獻鋼琴家的所有錄音。1979年6月，席夫開始與DECCA唱片合作，第一張唱片是與匈牙利著名女高音席薇亞‧莎絲於維也納錄製李斯特與巴爾托克的歌曲集，六個月後來到倫敦錄下莫札特鋼琴奏鳴曲。席夫在DECCA最後一張專輯是與男高音許萊亞合作的貝多芬歌曲集。 席夫在DECCA的錄音質、量皆具，鋼琴獨奏包括有巴哈、莫札特、舒伯特、孟德爾頌、楊納傑克等；協奏曲有巴哈、莫札特(與匈牙利大師維格合作)、孟德爾頌、布拉姆斯、柴可夫斯基等，歌曲伴奏有與許萊亞合作的舒伯特三大連篇歌曲、芭托莉等；室內樂有妻子塩川悠子合作的海頓三重奏、與維格合作的貝多芬小提琴奏鳴曲(首次國際CD發行)、舒伯特鱒魚、布拉姆斯、巴爾托克等。 席夫本人曾說：「我必須在錄音前做好1000%的準備，不只是100%，如果我不能對曲子有正確的理解與認識，我就不配在那裡。」這套採用原始專輯封面的DECCA錄音大全輯，是領略席夫鋼琴藝術最直接且有收穫的重要寶藏。
