館藏資訊

This program provides a unique opportunity to see the late John Cage discuss favorite subjects such as harmony, chance, and the purpose of music; recount biographical anecdotes; and describe the influence of Marcel Duchamp, Finnegans Wake, and Zen Buddhism on his compositions. Woven into the program is a performance of Fourteen by the Ives Ensemble, featuring a light and camera score by his longtime assistant Andrew Culver that was designed using Cage’s principle of chance.
