"第一號鋼琴協奏曲"是當時蘇聯名鋼琴家吉利爾斯再西方首度亮相時的錄音作品，她的神韻豐富，演奏技巧具有鋼鐵般的強度。在萊納所指揮的芝加哥交響樂團精確無誤的支援下，將全曲導入精彩的最高峰。
「胡桃鉗」選粹，曲數方面要比通常的組曲來得多一些，萊納針對演奏會用途，獨自選曲，以芭蕾音樂的演奏順序展開，時間大約有40分鐘左右。
