能夠這樣毫無保留的去推薦一張威爾第和普契尼詠歎調的錄音，真是樂事一件。
這份錄音中收錄的是義大利十九世紀兩位歌劇大師的女高音詠歎調。其中包括普契尼幾部重要歌劇中的女主角：托絲卡、波西米亞人中的咪咪、曼儂蕾絲考、強尼史濟基、蝴蝶夫人和燕子等。這些詠歎調因為很受歡迎，所以不管是不歌劇迷，都會在電影、廣告乃至廣播中聽到它們，甚至熟悉到你都會唱，只是不知道它們出自哪裡。片中另外加收了莫札特、威爾第的知名詠歎調。 紐西蘭女高音卡娜娃是由紐西蘭毛利人父母所生、歐洲籍養父母帶大的歌唱家，也是紐西蘭史上地位和聲望最高的歌唱家，在她全盛時期，曾是英國皇家歌劇院的首席女伶，其所演唱的莫札特、理察．史特勞斯歌劇，讓她成為近三十年來難覓的此類抒情女高音之最。這份錄音主要是以她在一九七七年第一次到西方灌錄的普契尼專輯為主，其他錄音則來自她日後在新力灌錄的全作中的選曲，讓人見證到這位頂尖抒情女高音在歌劇院中受到愛戴的歌藝。
