以巴赫《郭德堡變奏曲》初次亮相的2年後，24歲的顧爾德前往蘇聯演奏旅行，1957年5月，他成為當時北美首位在鐵幕演奏的鋼琴家。這張名為《Glenn Gould： The Russian Journey》的DVD，除了顧爾德在莫斯科的演奏會外，還包括他在蘇聯的演講、在列寧格勒音樂學院（Leningrad Conservatory）的演奏實況，顧爾德蘇聯之行結束後的受訪等珍貴史料，並訪問鋼琴家阿胥肯納吉（Vladimir Ashkenazy）、大提琴家羅斯卓波維奇（Mstislav Rostropovich）談顧爾德訪蘇行的影響。
