海倫.葛蕾模德1970 出生於法國，小時是好動兒，父母讓她試了各種運動、舞蹈與戶外活動，最後是音樂滿足了她的想像力。8歲開始學鋼琴，13歲入巴黎音樂學院 (Paris Conservatory)，15歲出唱片，大學除了音樂外還修得ethology 動物行為學士學位，後來移居美國 (佛羅里達州與紐約) 。在紐約時她領養了3隻加拿大狼，Apache、Lucas與 Kayla，致力於狼的保育。
