在一般愛樂者的心目中，男高音費亞松長於詮釋十九世紀歌劇作品中的抒情男高音角色，因此，這一張韓德爾的專輯肯定能帶給愛樂者極大的震撼。
當費亞松剛開始踏上職業演唱舞台時，一張由義大利次女高音芭托莉演唱的維瓦第作品集，點燃了費亞松對於十八世紀早期音樂的熱情，後來在指揮家與大鍵琴家埃馬努埃萊‧安的鼓勵下，費亞松錄製了蒙台威爾第的作品，也開始為自己的聲音找尋新的色彩與意義。
在這張專輯裡，長於演奏巴洛克時期作品的麥克里希與嘉布里耶利合奏團提供費亞松極大的幫助。麥克里希認為，費亞松有一副適合演唱巴洛克作品的好嗓子，對於各種建議也都樂意放開心胸接受。在麥克里希的協助下，費亞松大膽地從韓德爾的歌劇、神劇裡，選出韓德爾較不為人熟知的歌曲。即使是〈懷念的樹蔭〉這首名曲，費亞松的詮釋也與卡羅素、柯雷利等前輩完全不一樣，他試著從巴洛克男高音的角度來詮釋，而非一般人所熟知的抒情男高音。因此，愛樂者在這一張專輯聽到的，是一個與演唱普契尼、唐尼采第……完全不一樣的費亞松。
