The ballet interweaves the Lady of the camellias, one of literature's great tragic love stories, into that of Manon Lescaut, Dumas' favorite literature, through dreams and memory. The interweaving is done through parallel sequences which reflect the story lines of each literature. 編舞家約翰‧諾伊曼(John Neumeier)根據兩部著名的小說小仲馬的<<茶花女>>及普雷沃的<<曼儂‧萊斯科>>, 以互相交織的手法, 改編成一齣新的芭蕾舞劇.
