配樂作曲大師約翰‧威廉士為馬友友重新譜寫六首奧斯卡最佳電影配樂提名的『藝伎回憶錄』組曲，2008年馬友友與芝加哥管弦樂團錄製而成，首度發行。
CD2. 特別收錄馬友友於美國總統歐巴馬就職典禮上演奏「Air and Simple Gifts」：
當代配樂作曲大師約翰‧威廉士改編美國作曲家柯普蘭(Aaron Copland)作品「阿帕拉契山」主題旋律而成的四重奏，與小提琴家帕爾曼(Itzhak Perlman)、鋼琴家蒙特羅(Gabriela Montero)以及豎笛家麥克吉爾(Anthony McGill) 共同演出。
帕格尼尼與克萊斯勒名曲集
帕格尼尼和克萊斯勒是音樂史上的兩位傳奇人物，在世時，他們均以演奏名家的姿態轟動樂壇，尤其前者更有「與魔鬼交易」的著名傳說，而克萊斯勒則以假名的方式在音樂會或唱片中以他聞名的動人琴技接出他自創的小品；這些作品為這兩位大師在身后留下他驚人琴藝的見證，帕格尼的24首奇想曲更是音樂史上有名的難曲；如今馬友友以其非凡的琴技，將這些小提琴名曲改以大提琴來演奏，而絲毫不減樂曲本身的精神，是他可親，平易的一面，也是他名家風範的最佳表現。
