摘自 博客來音樂館 網站 : 2004年五月，來自蘇格蘭的十六歲義裔小提琴家妮可拉‧班內迪提以齊馬諾夫斯基第一號小提琴協奏曲贏得BBC年度青年音樂家大賽，並且在同年得到唱片公司錄製六張專輯的合約，進而踏上國際舞台。不過在此之前，出身曼紐因音樂學校的妮可拉‧班內迪提早就以優異的表現成為英國最受矚目的小提琴新星，也有多次與職業樂團，如：皇家愛樂、倫敦小交響樂團、蘇格蘭室內樂團合作的經驗。 這是妮可拉‧班內迪提第二張個人專輯。雖然孟德爾頌小提琴協奏曲是一首廣為人知的作品，妮可拉‧班內迪提卻依然為它帶來新穎而且能說服他人的詮釋手法。在麥克米蘭的指揮下，妮可拉‧班內迪提避開詮釋過度的做法，以小規模作品的角度呈現它的精緻面。其他曲目的安排也延續這一股精細風格，包括莫札特兩首抒情恬靜的小提琴小品、以豎琴為小提琴伴奏的舒伯特《聖母頌》，麥克米蘭也為妮可拉‧班內迪提創作了小提琴與管弦樂團的作品，描寫蘇格蘭故鄉的《愛爾夏》。
