摘自 音樂時代-唱片購買指南 : 六零年代是史特恩的黃金時期，他的布拉姆斯，顯得霸氣十足且盛氣凌人，到頗符合他那「音樂界教父」的形象。第一樂章獨奏進場處，與第三樂章均可清楚感受這強勢權威的爆發力，予人深刻印象。他拉琴似乎較不講究音色優美，常碰到旁邊的弦而發出雜音，卻以氣勢見長，那剛韌的音色在一些熱情段落聽起來是很過癮的。(蔡建誠)
